City of Chandler | Water-Wise: Rainwater Harvesting

March 9

March 9th, 2024 9:30am – 11am

Chandler Sunset Public Library – 4930 W Ray Rd

*Please RSVP Below*

Learn how to create a well-designed, rainwater harvesting system for your landscape. Creating swales (depressions in your landscape) will store water in your yard to nourish plants and provide groundwater recharge. The system will prevent runoff, allowing you to reduce your water use and save money during the rainy season. Once a rainwater harvesting system is set up, costs and maintenance are minimal.

This is a baseline class on the subject, aimed for people just hearing about rainwater harvesting, to get you going in the right direction.

This program is supported by the City of Chandler’s Water Conservation Department. Registration is required.

We will specifically cover:

  • Active vs. Passive water harvesting
  • The benefits of water harvesting
  • Why, when, and where to use water harvesting
  • How to assess your house or community space
  • How to create a basic design
  • Time for discussion and questions
