Are you interested in plants native to the Arizona desert? This workshop will teach you the importance of native plants, how to identify them, and which plants to select if you want to attract pollinators or wildlife! Furthermore, learn the dangers of invasive species and why it’s better to choose native. You will get a take home plant list from this workshop.

This program is supported by the City of Chandler’s Water Conservation Department. Registration is required.

We will specifically cover:

  • A more advanced list of native trees, shrubs, and plants to the Sonoran Desert and City of Chandler microclimate
  • Identifying annual native grasses, wildflowers, shrubs, and cacti
  • Identifying common “invasive” and non-native plants
  • Common traits of native and desert adapted plants
  • We will do a short walk and identify some plants as a group
  • Any specific questions from the group
