Design & Assessment Workshop – Tohono Chul

Come on out to Tohono Chul to learn how to asses a landscape’s health and function, and how to create/build on a design for that space. Feel free to come with a design in mind for your own yard, community space, or even an imaginary landscape. We will emphasize assessment for rainwater harvesting and go over the basics of passive water harvesting. We will then do a group activity around design creation and critique, and then talk about problem solving tips and tricks.
This workshop will be from 1pm – 2:30pm, but we will stay an additional 30 minutes to support people who want to review their design.
*This event has an admission fee of $15 for members and $20 for the general public.

We will specifically cover:
- How to check the topography of your landscape
- Identifying water supplies, problems, and outlet
- The basic benefits, purposes, and applications of passive rainwater harvesting
- A native plant list, and special tips and tricks on plant selection based on soil and water supply
- Any additional questions you may have
